Bother

To be honest, my actual language has been much stronger.

The day we were due to exchange, having been delayed by a firm of incompetent conveyancers, our buyer pulled out.

So we are back to square one since we will almost certainly have to start house hunting again.

The good news is I've had a good clear out and the skip is nearly full. The bad news is that if we are staying we need some things at the bottom of the skip.

  1. Aaaarrrgghhh! I can only imagine how bad the language you used was. We lost the first house we put an offer on after the seller pulled out almost at the last minute. I ended up with a trip to A&E having put the phone down and then smashed my hand into the nearest piece of very solid furniture; no broken bones in the end fortunately. Hope you manage to find something soon.

    1. What hurts most is how careful we've always been over the years to ensure we are good buyers ourselves. I think I was beyond anger. My wife has taken it very badly, she is off work because of pain whilst waiting for an operation as it is.

The good news is that within an hour of going back on the market people were queuing up to book viewings, but in a way that is worse, because it means we could have sold it anyway in the time he was leading us on.

    2. Yes, I can only imagine that this on top of the pain your wife is suffering can't be good. Fingers crossed you get an offer soon, and maybe you can still go for the house you were planning to buy, even if it does take longer than planned. Either that or you might turn up an even better house on a second go around.

Both my wife and I were really upset at loosing the first house we were after but in hindsight the house we eventually bought is so much better in almost every respect, so here's hoping it all turns out right in the end for you.
